Thanks NNW, it was just after sunrise in early July. Thick frost.

Not that part of the island.

Looking at an Abel, but not from the access route.

Black Bluff from the way up Mt Tor?
Mon 14 Sep, 2020 1:35 pm
That's further away than luvverboy was. This isn't a walking route.
In the interests of not making this too overly difficult and obscure, I will settle for the name of the area.

Hmmm curious.
Maydena range?

Bingo! Looking at Abbotts from the old logging road that goes out through Risby's Plain.

Nice one. You did well to capture it without any STT scars.
Here's one selected at random. And then resized to make fit under the new ridiculous 1mg size limit

I was standing on the scar. Below was a scene of utter devastation. But up was pretty cool.

Are we looking up Agamemnon?

Incorrect in fact. Not enough scrub for the SW

That's it eggs.

Where were we firing up for a lunchtime cuppa and I later kicked myself for not going the short distance to the actual top?

Rodway Range?
Mon 14 Sep, 2020 11:07 pm
North from there - the top of this spot is quite enchanting - particularly in snow.

This one is driving me batty. No obvious track, but what appears to be a marker cairn. Long, narrow, twisting but more or less level boulder ridge. Steep drop either side. Keep thinking the ""enchanting" must be a clue but doesn't fit anything that comes to mind. Only place I can think of that might look like that is maybe the ridge between Cradle and Little Horn, but even that doesn't feel right. Grrrr.

We are on a commonly used track.
I have been to the top with snow, and its like columns with icing on top.
South from Cradle but in the park

Acropolis?
Wed 16 Sep, 2020 9:33 am
Yes - this is just topping the ridgeline of the Acropolis. Very close to the top.

Thanks eggs. Should have recognised it sooner, it was like that when I went up. Next

Cool photo, you can make out the Wright Arch! You're looking over the Tiger Range/Gells Lookout...from where though...The slopes of Mt Lord?
Wed 16 Sep, 2020 11:50 am
Correct Rick. I'm in a clearfell heading up Mt Lord on a crisp winters day. It was the wispy mist I was trying to capture
Wed 16 Sep, 2020 1:04 pm
I'm planning Mt Lord soon, but from the other approach.

Mt Patrick? The wellington range one that is.

Correct Lucas, I finally "completed" the Wellington Range. A nice short walk, Georges Flagland was an interesting place.
