From the maintrack to Hartz Peak
Very generous eggs, I've walked through there a number of times but it didn't occur to me that it was on the main track.
Try this one:

- On the banks of Platypus Tarn, Mt Field NP via Westerway

You're in the right general area but not near Fossil Lake. However there is a named body of water behind me.

Are you looking at Seagers lookout?

I'm kinda looking in that general direction but wouldn't be able to see it from here. It's not too far away though.
I don't think the bump in view has a name.

I'm guessing Mt Field NP is correct, Maybe you're on the Eastern side of Lake Fenton?

Mt Field NP is correct but not Lake Fenton. I'm west of there.

Not that far west, and much smaller.

Are you standing near Lake Dobson? If you are I’m not sure what you’re looking at.

No, but that is the closest guess so far Graham. I walked here from Lake Dobson.
Doesn't matter about the unnamed feature I'm looking at, just need my location.

Possibly only two places that fit your clues. Try Platypus Tarn.

Platypus Tarn it is Graham. Probably a bit tricky without the tarn in view. Over to you.

Thanks John. I’ll have to go down some time and see what you were looking at.
Next.

Slight glitch - file was too big so I had to resize it.
This is one of the views I had last weekend. Where was I?

Snug?

Roughly the same latitude, but east from there.
It was an important water source before some campsite upgrades

Wughalee?

That's it NNW

It's still an important water source for some of us, although I never used the official campsite. Better spots up on Fortescue.

Mt Moriah?
Sun 23 May, 2021 7:28 pm
Straight off the bat, the first guess gets it. Yes it's Moriah, a wonderful day, with a far better descent than the first time. Still plenty of fagus around Ball, too.
