Could it be Weld putting you on a snowy snowy south?
Mon 19 Jul, 2021 4:13 pm
It could. And it is.

This looks one hell of a lot like sidling under the cliffs on PW, but not battling the wind and fog and rain while you're doing it.
Mon 19 Jul, 2021 4:54 pm
PW it is. Of course!

Would have liked conditions like that when I did it. Things had been pretty good right through the previous day, and then it went badly downhill overnight. Think it came good more or less as I reached Old Pelion ...

Achilles...or his Heel? I'll try Achilles first.
Mon 19 Jul, 2021 6:56 pm
Yes, Achilles. In the right sort of weather.

Of course.

Rocky Hill?
Wed 21 Jul, 2021 7:25 am
Even heavily cropped that summit area is easily recognised huh. Rocky it is.

Wasn't entirely sure until lining things up on ListMap. But that angle on Nereus, Perrins and Thetis gives it away.

I thought this was so easy a baby could get it.

An angle on Cradle? No idea what angle tho..
Thu 22 Jul, 2021 5:23 pm
Those two bits up there have a name.

Beggary Bumps

You want to have a look at the answer above. They're on the right track. Although, to be strictly accurate about it, probably only one of those lumps has a name.

Weindorfers tower?
Fri 23 Jul, 2021 6:56 am
Indeed, and from where would you get an angle like that on Weindorfers?
Fri 23 Jul, 2021 10:09 am
Are you on the face track?
Fri 23 Jul, 2021 10:41 am
YAY!!!! At last. And I figured this one would go quickly ...
Fri 23 Jul, 2021 12:05 pm
When I did that track it was under 1m of dry snow, and I was stuck in a whiteout... I was mostly hoping I would miss all the cliffs.
Ahhh, you be young and foolish again.
On the topic of foolish endeavors, I would like to go back and sleep on this little perched bowl above the cliff when tassie opens up again.

I'll grant you the Face Track - but Little Horn, not Weindorfers

It''s too late to be pedantic.

Pedantic is like saying I have climbed Weindorfers Tower... in my dreams..

Golly that looks awfully like I'm looking down on dolerite there!
