I think you'd have to be somewhere on the Roland massif, looking over Gog to Quamby, Projection and Drys. Given the angle I'd think closer to Van Dyke than Roland itself.

This is a far more frequently visited spot. I actually thought this one would go really quickly.

A very evocative photograph. Is it the Liffey River if you walk downstream a shortish distance from the falls?

There is a reason for that, although no fish were sighted on this day.

Lovely photo NNW.

Although - before I looked closely to recognise the Little Horn, my first thought was this place..

Anne River from the swing bridge on the Lake Judd track

And the first time I saw this in 1983 it was from a position which was a little unsteady.

After this one, no-one can ever again complain to me about lack of clues in the photo itself.

Just a stab in the wilderness.....

Is that the Anne River at the Lake Judd campsite ?

Yes. Anne River but from the swing bridge. It was a 3 cable bridge when I first crossed it.

Lake Judd was the last night I spent in the Tassie bush so even though that was back in May it's still kind of fresh in my memory....

Anyone else can go.

So is the theme tough river shots
or is it shots from bridges now?
Once again - a lovely shot NNW.
The bridge over Pencil Pine Creek was as far as we got before heading back.
Dove Canyon will have to wait for another day.

Bridges and watercourses. There must be some more obscure ones around.
The canyon's a good little loop, but to get the best of it you really neeed to follow the old pad down to the Pencil Pine - Dove confluence.

Well here is one from 1986.
Its a youthful me - finding somewhere to cross at a point where a creek crosses a 4WD track.
The creek is unnamed, but comes out of a named valley.
We were headed for an ascent ridge onto the range behind.
Name the range to win the prize.

Before the Plimsoll dam was constructed, I assume?

I should not have done that ... ok, next up. This should be easy. Name the track and/or the day's target peak.

Yes - no Anthony scheme or bitumen road back then.
The road we were walking is now called the Lake Spicer Track and our ascent ridge was on the west side of Lake Rolleston.

I've looked at the main northern ridge a couple of times. It looks like a fun way to do a loop. But that would be climbing up from the saddle rather than going down to Rolleston.

I had some very old track notes.
I believe it was the recognised access route - it is very open walking.
I suspect the reason for going up that ridge may have been the approach via Saddle Lake / Huntley Lookout for a good view of the Lake Huntley cliffs.
The southern approach would have been via Lake Margaret.

Has a west coast feel.
Not sure about a track, but might be heading to Julia Peak?
Are you looking at Moyle Rock on the RHS?

Of course I did. The forecast was good and I was going stir-crazy.

There's no track to Julia Peak, eggs. Never heard of Moyle Rock. I was heading to something on the Peakbaggers' List.
Clue is being repeated: look at a recent conversation.
