It is silver.
Who said anything about a direction from Meston? I just said close. Which it kinda is.
Tue 23 Jan, 2024 5:24 pm
You're right - I was getting tangled up with the suggestion of the northern end of Meston. Apologies.
No tent in view, but I did camp not far from here.

Well thankyou. 100% accepted.
Now, are you in the curly area? Maybe Shining MTN?
Wed 24 Jan, 2024 7:00 am
Wel, it is in the western half of the state, but otherwise you're well off base. *nostalgic sigh at the thought of Curly and Shining ...
Wed 24 Jan, 2024 8:18 am
Yes I concur. I wish my old legs still had it in them.
Lake curly is one of the state's true gems.
Right, might it be that new mtn they made up recently near Frenchman's then?
Wed 24 Jan, 2024 10:14 am
A bit closer but still the wrong side of the highway.
Wed 24 Jan, 2024 10:34 am
Sumer Spur?
Wed 24 Jan, 2024 11:03 am
Mt Cripps?
Wed 24 Jan, 2024 11:43 am
Last and eggs have gone too far north.
I'm not on an Abel, but I can see plenty. Some are quite close.
Wed 24 Jan, 2024 11:58 am
Maybe the almost-an-Abel 1111m, en route to Rocky Hill?
Wed 24 Jan, 2024 3:20 pm
Closest so far; still not there. But something some people visit from that spot was visible from where I was.
Wed 24 Jan, 2024 7:02 pm
Cannot be Dome Hill, because that appears to be an Abel
Wed 24 Jan, 2024 7:50 pm
Also cannot be Dome Hill because I'm not in the Eldons. But I can see some of them.

It is indeed, and ideally done when young and fit. Still possible for oldies with kind friends, though.
I think the rock is wrong, but I'll try Mediation/Junction Hill. Oops, missed your post, nnw.

Sticht Range?
Wed 24 Jan, 2024 8:40 pm
My goodness, I'm slow!

I was looking at that view from there 10 days ago, but my brain got stuck elsewhere. That's Victoria Peak and Sophia Peak poking out of the cloud - which I was hoping to climb this weekend (except Murchison Dam Rd is closed to the public for 18 months).

Yes, out on one of the more-or-less attched bits. It's a lovely place for a little casual exploration.

I really thought you'd get it, and I didn't need to hear that because I was planning on doing that as soon as possibble after the next trip. Guess I'll just have to go in from Mackintosh and do a lot more paddling.

Yep. I guess you know about the permanent alert for access there related to dam levels?

Are you approaching/departing Mt Thetis?
Fri 26 Jan, 2024 2:40 pm
In the right area, but that is not Thetis in view. Try for a little more precision.
Fri 26 Jan, 2024 3:27 pm
That could be the back of Ossa, from the track that leads to the Ossa Thetis saddle. I think I can see that PP thicket on Thelist.
Fri 26 Jan, 2024 9:49 pm
That's better. Yes we were actually coming down from the saddle, looking back at Ossa.

Thanks eggs, next

Tyndalls? It looks like you're on the moraine running down around the southern side of Huntley. Still fairly high up - east of the first bump.
Sat 27 Jan, 2024 9:07 am
Close, yes to the Tyndalls but not there.
Sun 28 Jan, 2024 6:22 pm
Near Lake Monica?
Sun 28 Jan, 2024 6:55 pm
Correct eggs.
