Thanks for mentioning this one, Eggs. I've driven past oodles of times, and vaguely wondered about exploring some of the bumps. Round Mountain looks like it could be fun.

Edit: with a side trip to Brazen Nose!

Proxying for nnw now, and can confirm that you are correct, Reubs.
(And I did think you might like to join me on a little jaunt up Round Mountain. I'll let you go first.

Proxying now for Reubs, who's again having the problem of his post not showing up in the thread. He said anyone can jump in now.

I just got back from a walk. I have the scratches to prove there was lots of scrub to bash through.
Which Abel is this photo from?

Yes, that’s it. It was nice to get away from the crowds (absolutely no one else up there) and the scenery is magnificent. We battled a lot of scrub to get to the open ridges and ran out of time and energy to tackle Philps Peak. If anyone has advice on an easier route I would appreciate hearing about it. I might have one more attempt in me when the days are longer.

It's just before you drop down to Chapter Lake. It was a lake when we were there not many weeks earlier.

That's the spot Tortoise, great place for a game of cricket!
It's crazy how much it changed in the space of a few weeks.
