I could tell the skyline was the Remarkables - but hard work nailing this foreground.
This is in Africa - there is a Where's Wally object that would also serve as a clue.

Some years ago I read one of the Gutenberg volumes of the Livingstone/Stanley explorations. It was epic, difficult and sad.

Correct Last, that answer is good enough. We are on the Beaver Ponds loop trail in the northern part of Yellowstone NP. Looking behind us waiting for a wandering bison to move off the track ahead.

I managed to narrow this down to Oslo harbour or waterfront area.
But I can't pinpoint the exact spot despite finding a near identical photo online.

Thanks Last. That looks like a popular spot but even searching that name doesn't reveal any images remotely like it.
