You read the clue well Last. Interesting Maori legend. Yes this is the walk up the valley towards the terminal face of the glacier, a little obscured on the distant left.

Thanks John, I wouldn't have got it without the clue, although I have been there (I think) in the '70's. Next, Europe. Where have so many people lost their hats?

Those alpine refuges always seem to be located in a spectacular setting.
