This message is too late for those already in the bush, but National Parks and Wildlife Service have shut all National Parks, Nature Reserves, Conservation Areas etc across the entire state tomorrow (Tuesday 8 Jan 2013) due to the extreme fire danger. It will be an offence (which carries serious penalties) to enter any public land managed by NPWS.
This is the message posted on the NPWS page -- http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/Natio ... osure.aspx
All parks and reserves across the state will be closed tomorrow, 8 January 2013 (for tomorrow) due to increasing areas affected by extreme and catastrophic weather conditions.
No one should enter any park or reserve tomorrow.
All existing visitors, including campers, should relocate to a safer place by 0900 on Tuesday 8 January if possible.
There will be no forced evacuations.
Vistors remaining in parks and reserves should monitor media for updated information and be prepared to follow instructions from NPWS staff.
