Im doing the "overnight in the bluegum forest" and I was just wondering can you have fires at Acacia Flat?

It's a designated gas/fuel only area

Once you get to Acacia Flat you will notice "Fuel Stove Only" signs, but you cannot help noticing also - fireplaces - with signs of recent use. And its not hard to see why bushwalkers camping there light fires. If you search online for information - e.g. -
http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/blu ... nd/campingor
http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/natio ... x?id=N0004They have no mention of it being "Fuel Stove Only". Once you get there, its a bit hard to walk back out and grab your stove and walk back in again.

Not any more, since approximately the 1990s.
The current "fossil fuel only" policy is not a good one in my opinion.
