I stumbled across this website today which I found quite interesting.
http://www.rexgilroy.com/uru-kanangra1.htmlWhat do you think? Does anyone recognise the rocks or where they are located in Kanangra?

Can't be a hard to slog to get to, that bloke looks like he's dressed to hit the local RSL for the chook raffle. I'd be keen to have a scout around to locate that site if you hunt down a clue to the area.
In one photo looks like he chalked some of those carvings, isn't that illegal?

I vaguely recall seeing rocks like that while en route to the 'boyd' trig. The trig itself is only 1K east of Kanangra Walls Road, about 3Km south of the Boyd Crossing camp ground. So yeah hardly an inaccessible spot.

aaprently he's been to NZ lookking for a loch ness monster in the south island...
theres a couple of stories about divers in the lakes claiming that oversized eels estimated to be 40 kilos, had a go at them while diving deep.... never heard anything about loch ness type monsters though...

Hmm, that could be the spot. I'm out that way after Christmas so I might swing past and have a look.

Rex Gilroy is a fantasist. He imagines that various geographical features were created/formed by an ancient powerful race of demi-gods. (paraphrased)
He is an artist in the application of bovine excrement.

My Cousin and myself are looking at spending 26-29th at Kanangra doing a trip along the lines of this topic -
viewtopic.php?f=36&t=13454Paralyser and Cloudmaker would be a good day walk. I've climbed those mountains this time last year and the year before. The long hours of light always help when you are in the deep gullies!
Sounds like we might see you out there!

Their bookstore
http://www.mysteriousaustralia.com/books-for-sale.htmlI'm amazed at how anyone can believe so many things that are obviously wrong. At least they aren't hurting anyone.

If we cross paths anywhere other than the carpark, either you are horribly lost or I am horribly late
sounds like a ripper trip you have planned. Enjoy!

Jonno - Haha. I think we might be camping on the night of the 25th now. I'll let you know what we do though, and we'll be identifiable by our matching broad brim hats!
