Heading for the Kanangra wilderness during the Queens BD long weekend camping at 100 Man Cave from the Kowmung River side via Compagnoni Pass. I just want to know if we can visit the 1000 Man Cave along the way to the 100 Man Cave after climbing the metal spikes. Is there a route?
My concern is that I am not sure anymore the elevation of the 1000 Man Cave, is it located on top of the plateau or at the base near the bottom? And if at the base perhaps better to climb Ti Willa along the Willa Buttress path and walk West under the escarpment until hitting 1000 Man Cave then climb up for the plateau. If it is at the top, is there a Westward track from the spike to traverse to that cave?
Also has anyone been in the locality recently? What is the condition of the track along Compagnoni Pass and Willa Buttress? I assume we might have to bushbash some of the way as tracks there from long ago were rather faint.
Hopefully you good folks can enlighten me.
