NSW NPWS Website

Sat 30 May, 2015 12:46 pm

Just a heads up for people looking for info for NSW National Parks, the OEH and NPWS websites have mostly been merged into eachother after a few years of parallel existence. Bit of a shame, as the new website is a pain to use, but hopefully it'll be refined some more in the future.
If you're looking for the Plans of Management and other similar documents (like Fire Management Strategies), they're still on the OEH website at http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/parkm ... tegory.htm
Along with some other stuff like Park acquisitions and other policy documents.

Both sites were always a pain to use. You barely find any info. The main tracks, couple of pictures, and a rubbish low resolution map. The Park VIC website looks a bit dated, but it's got a ton of info in PDF factsheets for even the smallest state park.

Yeah, the Vic Website was always much nicer to use, especially with the factsheets. The really bad maps have always been bizzarre- it's not like NSW NPWS doesn't have access to better maps they could use; even the maps from the brochures would be way better. IMO, most Australian NPWS agencies should take a look at NZ's DOC website- it is really nice and easy to use compared to ours.
