Cox River Depth

Postby matthewdean » Mon 11 Feb, 2013 3:39 pm

Hello,

I am just wondering If anyone has crossed the Cox river at Konangaroo clearing in the last few weeks and could comment on how deep it was flowing? I used to refer to a BOM webpage that contained the river depth at Kelpie Point though I can no longer access it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Yes - the Kelpie Point gauge seems to be out of action and the other one on the Coxs is too high up to be useful. Some friends packrafted the river from Breakfast Ck to White Dog recently and had a good run in high water. That was two weeks ago now - so the river has probably gone back down to a low level.

Much appreciated Dave,

I am walking the K2K this weekend and wasn't too keen on a swim. I guess I'll throw the swimmers and towel in the pack just in case as a bit of rain is also on the cards this week.

Cheers,
