Murphys Glen Circuit.

Postby kanangra » Sun 19 Oct, 2014 8:22 am

I took advantage of the beautiful morning yesterday to do a round trip in the central mountains. From the glen I took Murphys FT to Bedford Ck then up steeply on the other side to the Ingar FT. This I followed all the way out to Tablelands Rd where I turned left down past the old Queen Victoria Memorial hospital. Soon the road reverted to dirt again as I made my way along the Erskine Range. The waratahs were in bloom and made an impressive sight. I turned left onto Andersons Trail which is slowly revegetating, just walkers and riders along here now. The old wooden bridge at 632:577 has been replaced and is standing in one piece beside the track. A gate has been installed there but is open. Soon the descent to Bedford Ck begins. The final section above and beside Queen Victoria Ck is quite spectacular. Once down the track crosses the pristine Queen Victoria Ck and then Bedford Ck to join up with my outward route. It was then a steep haul back up to the car.

A very pleasant way to spend the morning. The trip took 4.5 hrs.

Nice walk there Kanangara. I remember Murphys Glen and Ingar from my time in the Scouts back in the 70s, but have not been there since.

Why not just post about also in Cool Running? After all - it is a known runners loop, taking in three well-known Fire Trails linked by Kings Table land Rd. And moving in excess of 9km/h overall... that is running! http://www.coolrunning.com.au/forums/

Well done on getting out there, but please - say it like it is. You were probably not dressed as one does for walking nor bush-walking, nor would your day-pack for bushwalking have been used on Saturday morning.
Live everyday as if it were your last... one day you will be right.

So I jogged a bit. What is the harm in that? I never said I walked all of it. I thought the area and trip might be of interest on here. I don't consider myself a jogger any more and haven't looked in on Cool Running for many many years.
