Mount Solitary plus Jamison Creek

Postby LachlanB » Wed 27 May, 2015 7:12 pm

Hi guys, I'm looking at doing the walk from Katoomba to Wentworth Falls via Mt Solitary, and was trying to find a way to avoid the road bash that most people seem to take up on Kings Tableland. As I've got two nights, I was wondering if it's possible to follow Kedumba River from its intersection with the Mt Solitary track to Point Sublime Firetrail? From there, it should be relatively simple to follow Jamison Ck up to Vera Falls and into Wentworth Falls, as there's definitely a track from Vera Falls, and a year old thread here reckons theres a partial track through Prince Regents Glen. But I'm not sure about the section after Point Sublime Ridge, and don't fancy walking 400m up and then down Kedumba Pass if I don't have to. So I'd be really keen to hear from anyone who's been through the area!

Rather than going up Kedumba River, you could probably cut back under the cliffs from the pass on the east end of Solitary, until you can get on to the ridge that leads down to the Kedumba River/Jamison Creek junction.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll file it away as an option. Probably be much more open and nicer walking with less lawyer vine up on the ridge.
