After battling Miranda Fair for a few hours, we needed some sanity -
Started at the end of Bottle Forest and wandered down the Heathcote and Engadine tracks to Kangaroo ck and then up and over to Audley. Me a little wet and slimy where I decided to test how slippery the algae was in the creek. The short answer is - very. Fortunately I landed on a well padded rump, and less padded shoulder. After a refuel of Choccy milkshake and chocolate brownie, walked back up to Robertsons roundabout and onto Uloola track, up to the falls and then up past Karloo pools and back via the Karloo tk to the car. We added a bit when we got onto a less used track and eventually decided to retrace, probably added an extra km to the walk which ended up at about 15ks and 5 hours.
Very few people on the track, in fact we only passed 2 walkers, and maybe saw 2 others. There were a few people at Kangaroo ck, a few campers at Uloola campground and half a dozen having a swim at Karloo.
A quick question though - I came across a fungus (i think) that was spherical, and silver. Almost like a Christmas ball that had been left out for a few days, still shiny. Here is a lousy picture. Anyone know what it is?
An excellent walk that has left us just a little tired. Gotta love the Royal.
