I don't camp above the Treeline anywhere if I can avoid it.On Some treks in India and Pakistan it 's unavoidable.

Really??? I've some of my most memorable experiences (not all great mind you - yes I see your point) camping above the tree line. And some of my best photos......
Yes agree with most points on the topic. I have stayed inside the hut on rare occasions during horrid and freezing conditions (snow storm or rain/sleet) but as suggested it is really an emergency shelter. Ie leave it how you found it and only use the wood in life threatening situations (haven't needed to yet).
