I am also interested in learning about this hike, as I plan to hike one week on the trail from late May.

Gotcha...good point Matt, by the way I recently picked up your GNW Book, great job.

I was wondering if anyone has a cumulative distance guide for the trail? The problem with guidebooks is that they are done in sections of trail, which include 'feeder' trails that are not actually part of the main trail, so the distance is technically wrong when linking up sections. Also, along this line, a listing of campsites along the way, in particular from Brooklyn to say Thornleigh, because from what I can gauge...this would be a nice, long section to backpack near Sydney.

It would also be good to know if the campsites have water sources as well. Thanks!

The whole walk is 260km long. If you look at the itineraries section at the back of 'my' book the distances focus on the main spine of the GNW and ignore side tracks unless used. most campsites don't have water, but again that will be mention in my notes.

All the info I have required came either from Matt's website and notes/maps or the link he put up. So long as you know terrain/track type, water sources and the campsites it's a pretty easy walk to complete. If your a hammock camper ( )you can pretty much just camp where you like.
Really there is not much else I believe you will get. The wildwalks notes are very good and the website has heaps and heaps of pictures along every section to familarise yourself with whatever you like.
