New England NP - Cascade Track

I'm planning to do the Cascade walk here. It's listed as "hard" and 3 hours. Just wondering what's hard about it, not so much for myself but my partner.
I did the Eagle's Nest - Weeping Rock walk the other day and it was listed as hard but that was because of steps. Wondering if it's any worse than that.
Including some shots of the walk I did.
Cheers

I haven't walked that track in years, but it would be no more difficult than weeping rock which you have just walked. Great part of the world out there on the eastern fall escarpment. Just be careful after cold nights and you plan an early start, as a lot of ice can develop on that track.

I've walked this track many times and I wouldn't consider it any more difficult, in terms of terrain, than the Eagles Nest track, just longer and further to get to which is probably what brings it up to the 'hard' rating. There is one section along the creek where it is quite rocky and if wet this section can be greasy and slippery. There are no handrails for support. The track is a little bit steep in and out, but again I wouldn't say its much worse than what you have done on Eagle's Nest. If you are thinking about adding on Wright's Lookout to the walk (which I would highly recommend if the weather is clear) there is a very short, but rocky scramble up onto the plateau (ducking under a low tree trunk), again no handrails but also nothing extreme and it is really worth it.

I hope this helps. I really think you would be fine if you feel the distance is okay. Enjoy the walk, the forest is beautiful there and the creek very pretty!

Just to whet your appetite here's one of my partner Caz's lovely shots from an old trip!!
