I parked the car at Founders Way on Hunter Ave St Ives and followed the Pipeline track down to the creek. At the bottom I ducked under the pipe and found a feint track along Rocky Ck. I followed this up to the tidal head where someone has placed a handline to assist in the crossing. The pad continues on the other side and is unmarked except for the occasional piece of pink tape. After passing Lockley Pt the track began to improve and above Gordon Ck I came to a track which led down and across the creek and up to a sign for the Two Creeks track. Here I turned left and followed the track along the banks of Middle Harbour. The track turned right up Moores Ck which was eventually crossed at a nice bridge. Then around the corner the Roseville Bridge came into view. The track passed under the bridge and then up and back under the other way.

I ran across the bridge and down into Davidson Park. Beautiful morning. Not many about. Wonderful reflections. At the end of the picnic grounds I continued on the Lyrebird track. This led up Carroll Ck. It's very hard to believe you are so close to Sydney here. It has a wonderful remote feel to it. At a track junction I dropped down on the Governor Phillip Walk across the creek and then back to Middle Harbour Ck which I followed upstream to the pipeline. I could have waded across but elected to continue up to Bungaroo where I crossed on the Stepping Stone Crossing before walking downstream on the other side to the pipeline. Here I headed uphill back to the car.

A very pleasant way to spend the early morning, before things started to really hot up.

This is a pretty regular walk for me - a great little circuit that doesn't require much navigation (although the bit around the Rocky Creek Crossing can be a bit hard to negotiate at times). I love that I can be this far in nature (I've seen snakes, being deafened by cicada's,etc.) and still be this close to Sydney.

Yes a couple of times I really had to remind myself where I really was. It felt as if I was miles away from anywhere.

It's also very nice to continue up Middle Harbour creek from Bungaroo up to the Cascades. It is some very pretty creek up there.

I agree. The Cascades is a great place for a cool off.
