Informal Central Coast walking groups?

Postby Tortoise » Tue 20 May, 2014 7:53 pm

Just wondering if anybody knows of informal walking groups (as opposed to clubs) on the Central Coast (NSW that is), that do midweek walks. I'm not keen to join yet another walking club while I'm up here if i don't have to.

I know of the women's group in Woy Woy that walk on Fridays. Are there others people know about? I'm thinking maybe there's a bunch of pretty fit retired people who do some more challenging bushwalks.

Ta for any thoughts.

Contact Mark at NPWS in Gosford. He will send you a brochure.
The fit retirees mostly walk on Saturdays but there is a reasonable group of retirees that walk every Thursday, I think its in Yarramalong this week. There is also a group on Monday but they ramble. Its not a formal group but you do have to book in with Mark and there is a cost ($7?).
The Discovery program on the Central Coast is very active and I often walk with them. Its the large population of retirees :)
