Historic Night Cap Walk, is there water???

Postby Cool Breeze » Fri 30 May, 2014 6:31 pm

Hey guys

I plan on walking the historic night cap walk over the June long weekend. I have the 25k map but I am unable to determine the availability of water on the track. Has anybody completed this walk recently who can confirm if I am able to get water on the track or will need to carry 2 days worth? :?

Many thanks in advance

Depending on where you start and finish the walk you should pass a few creeks. There are a few on the road heading north from Rummery Park and if you drop into the Huonbrook valley the creeks are all flowing at the moment.

It's been a while since I was up there but I don't think there are any reliable water sources on the section between the top of north rocks road and the campsite to the southwest of Mt Jerusalem (the site that has a thunderbox with a view of Mt Warning).
ALWAYS be yourself.
Unless you can be outside, then ALWAYS be outside.
