Mt. Carialoo via Jacks Corner Rd

Postby wombat4787 » Mon 15 Sep, 2014 7:27 am

Hi all,

I was wondering if access to Mt. Carialoo via Jacks Corner Rd (Kangaroo Valley) is still okay? Research tells me you go via a private property, but the owner is obviously a nice person and there is a sign saying "Bushwalkers Welcome." So far, so good. The most recent advice I've seen dates back to 2011, so I was wondering if this was still current? I'd hate to head that way to find the property had changed hands and the access was now blocked.

Thanks

I assume you refer to the Macphail trail AKA the Cannonball. That is a steep access to Carialoo... try going in from the top of Barrengarry pass, then perhaps walking down to the Jack's corner road. Also be aware that if you do go up from Jack's Corner road that you will be going against the tide of down hill mountain bike enthusiasts, and we would find it damn hard to pass you on some sections!
