Hi guys, I am considering to go camping at Wilkinson creek. Can anyone tell me if it is ok to park the car overnight at Charlotte Pass while going camping for a night? I understand it is ok during daytime, but not sure overnight. Any advice much appreciated.

Hi Jack,
The best place and most common area to park is at the end of the road at the turn around circle. It's right at the begining of the trailhead of the the lakes walk, summit road. There are public toilets there and provided you follow the parking signage you will be fine. Don't park way down in the village. In the busy period you will find cars park along the side of the road for quite a way.
Enjoy your walk.

So it is ok to park overnight as long as follow the parking signage at the end of the road? Thanks Darren.

Yes, provided that you have paid the entrance fee or have a sticker that includes Kosciusko.

Doesn't mater if you don't. They'll just leave a little envelope under the wiper with the notice.

Yes all good to park overnight. Get's really busy this time of year. If you arrive early morning or very late afternoon is the best time for getting a spot. Otherwise you would be very lucky to park anywhere near the turning circle. Most likely way back down the road in my experience. While I agree with NNW in that you could not pay the entry fee and get a reminder ticket on the windscreen, that could escalate to a substantial fine if you forget to pay. My suggestion would be to pay as you enter the park unless it's after hours (or you already have a pass).

I wouldn't suggest parking at the 'turning circle' itself - there are signs specifying 15 minute parking only. So you'd need to park on the roadside just before the circle, either side of the road there is plenty of room, provided you have beaten the crowds who tend to park here too.
