June/July trip

I know this is planing a decent amount in advance, but between now and the trip I won't have a day I'm not either at work, or at uni. Then similar schedule till September. So in saying that, I want to roster a few days off work in my Uni break, get out into the bush and just "reset". Only problem is I don't really know where to go.
Located in Northern Sydney and will be relying on public transport, taxi's, hitch hiking, or begging for a lift.
I will predominantly be looking for a 3 day walk, or somewhere I could do a decent trek into, set up camp and spend a few days exploring.
Can anyone suggest something that could fit the bill?

That looks highly promising! Any other suggestions in case the weather at that time decides to be precarious up in Blue Mountains?

The coastal walk down in the Royal NP? Bundeena and south. You can access Bundeena by public transport (train/ferry). Or map out a big loop within RNP for 3 days using one of the railway stations on the west side of the Royal as your exit point.
I like the Mt Solitary circuit idea though, one that I want to do at some point.

June/July in the mountains can be challenging. We regulary visit friends who live in the upper mountains about this time of year and I can tell you it can get extremely cold. So cold that we leave the beer and wine just sitting out on the verandah to keep cold (keeps it colder than if we put it in the fridge).
Coastal track sounds a better prospect for a winter walk.
Cheers,
Michael.

Exactly why I was looking for other options. I lived in Katoomba for two winters so am aware of the weather and how quickly it can change. I was also thinking of the Royal National park as a back up. Will have to acquire some maps and scout out some possibilities. Though I do like the look of mt solitary if the weather is predicted to be nice.

Try
Open Street Map for your planning needs with good record of walking tracks. Convenient online mapping resource on the net. Guess you can go all the way south and exit via Otford railway station. It'll still be a bit cold with winter coastal wind.

Thanks GPS I'll check that out when I'm not on my phone! I'm not concerned with the cold, got an array of warm thermals and jackets etc. More concerned with hoping its not pouring rain, and being able to locate water (those two kind of cancel each other out a bit haha). Done a couple of overnight treks now, but this will hopefully be my first (of many) multi-day trip. Will probably be solo as well.

Up north you could try Patonga to Somersby via Pindar Caves (just take your time as its really an overnighter). Transport can be a bit trickier at the somersby end though.

Another consideration is to do a long segment of the Great North Walk. Exit point can be chosen to match one of the railway stations along the way.

Awesome, thanks everyone! Couple of good options that I can choose from closer to the date
