in the following thread, Bron writes, quote: "Once you cross the inlet there is a route marked by Christmas decorations up to the bottom of the ladders. the ladders are plain iron rungs and there is a rope to hold onto if you need it.

I hired a chopper yesterday and took the following photo..........

ok, thanks shankspony. I'll let you know in the next few weeks which letter it is LOL.
have done the 'assault' coming in from from the top, thought I might have a Captain Cook at going to the top up the ladder.

sounds good. If you like dry feet, try to time your estuary crossing with low tide too! Today would be perfect... :D

Check the condition of the rope. I've haven't been there in awhile but last time the rope was ordinary.

did this walk last Saturday.
started at Phegans/Horsefield Bay end on the Woy Woy Bay firetrail. followed my nose down to the water and then MUD flats at low tide. spotted the ribbon tape across the other side and followed them all. MOST interesting. HOWEVER I was a bit too early for the dead-low tide and got very muddy sneakers

crossing the mud flats...........

on the way back, some nice photo opportunities looking down Woy Woy Bay,
with Spion Kop on the left on the other side..........
