Hey all, a couple months ago i started asking for advice on my first cycling tour from sydney to adelaide early this month

just posting to say that i made it

my ride started at yerrinbool, i decided to take a train outside of sydney because f!ck riding down to and through sydney

it took me about 8 days, including one rest day, i averaged over 200k per day for each working day (probably abvout 210-215k average) excluding one rest day where i did just 60k from mildura

mainly stayed at caravan parks, in a bivy bag, and i didnt use my cooking equipment much at all, diet was mainly high sugary foods, soft drink, candy, rice, etc

i also managed to time it so my 260k ride to hay, and then through to balranald was on a 40+c day, and the ride from balranald through mallee was also 40+c

but i carried plenty of water and didnt feel much heat stress

this is a pic from about 30-50k from hay

FANTASTIC effort ! Well done 8)
tick that off the bucket list, hey

I can cycle all the way from West Gosford to Koolewong Foreshore Reserve on my MTB and BACK. About 6klms each way. Not bad for a "Senior Citizen" :)
