hi all, sorry for this specific question, but could I get some ideas for overnight one way hikes on the gnw, somewhere between girrakool and wollombi, distance about 8-12k hike and possibly where there's a water source and to top it off:), end of hike would have to be near where we would park our car to get home, tks!!

I posted some comments some months back on water availability for the whole of the GNW. This was based on a walk I did back in March.

Hasn't rained much since then so some of the more minor creeks may well have dried up. If you can find a copy in your local library have a look at McClelland's book on the GNW. It breaks the walk up into sections so this will give you some day walk ideas. Also have a look at the wildwalks site. http://www.wildwalks.com

The Lands Dept has a full set of track notes and strip maps for a small fee. It's all there.

Cheers
