Track up Monkey Ropes Ck.

On Sunday I was down on Erskine Ck. I went down the Tiernay(?) Track (my first time, what a track
).
I crossed Monkey Ropes CK to the true right bank, climbed up the bank on a faint footpad and found the well worn footpad down to Lincoln Ck just up the bank from the crossing point. I noticed that this footpad also appears to head up the true right side of Monkey Ropes Ck. My question is does this footpad actually go up the creek or did I miss it intersecting the creek at the crossing point and the faint footpad was just a shortcut. Any help would be appreciated.
