Can anyone suggest 1 or 2 solid daywalks in this park.Is Hairy mans rock worth a visit?

On my only visit to BB I had Hairy Man Rock planned as a half day trip leaving from the falls area. Unfortunately the weather was rubbish so it didnt happen. I did, however, make it out to Mt Prentice which allegedly has great views (again drizzle and cloudy so no views). I just followed the river from above the falls and went along Basket Swamp Creek to a suitable ridge. No tracks to follow though so you need reasonable navigation here. I believe there might be a track now from somewhere along the park road.
Another idea for a walk would be to descend to the base of the falls and then rockhop down the river for half a day.

Bald Rock isn't far from there too. Worth the drive out.

I went out there for the first time a few months ago, its a nice place to explore but I found that there wasn't a lot of established tracks. Theres a couple of fire trails and a short track around the top of the waterfall which are worth a look, but I didn't do the Mt. Prentice walk or Hairy Mans Rock so can't comment on them. If you go around the boardwalk to the platform that overlooks Boonoo Boonoo Falls you will see a track that keeps going past the end of the boardwalk and contours around the hill. This leads to the bottom of the falls and a really pretty rocky creek but I would not attempt it unless you are confident about your scrambling ability. It is very steep, some vertical climbing is involved, and the substrate is very soft and sketchy in places, some hefty slabs of rock that are ready to slide from under you... You have to cross a couple of sizeable rock falls too, with one or two impressive 'avalanches' visible on the opposite side of the canyon. The creek at the top of the falls is stunning though and you could easily spend a day rock hopping and sightseeing along it (I did ), you could even make a day of it by following the creek from the campsite down to the falls and back, the granite landscape could almost be on the moon in places. Failing that you could always do the short drive to Bald Rock or Girraween, plenty of great walking at both of those places, on & off track.
