Lorne to Apollo Bay hike

Wed 27 Aug, 2014 8:22 pm

Hi All,
I've done the GOW hike, however is there a track from Lorne to Apollo Bay that anybody has done (without bush bashing and creating their own path)? This area is probably the nicest area of the region. Would be great to see the extension the GOW.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum cam_mcd.

A few years ago there was a proposed track between Lorne and Apollo Bay called Trans-Otway Waterfall Walk. http://www.otwaywalks.com/TOWW_main1.html . I believe the idea was canned. The idea was to link some of the existing tracks with new tracks. You might be able to hike a majority from Lorne and Apollo Bay using the existing tracks and linking them up using roads and/or 4WD tracks. If you contact the Otway Ranges Walking Track Association they should be able to tell you which tracks already exist.
