They are friendly little fellows. You see them a lot around Fraser Park. They'll land on your car roof right next to you while your packing the car.

The bird on your tomato sauce bottle is a rosella. dplanet's photo is of a male king parrot.

Beautiful. I often had pairs of King Parrots around my house when I lived at Clear Mountain. Pale Head Rosellas too, amongst other species.

So why was this one here? Looking for an easy feed?

Yeah nice bird's. Amazing colours. I bet magpies get a bit jealous. A bit like the super model and the feral.

Easy Tiger, magpies are a classic beauty. Everything looks good in black and white. Anyway plenty of King parrots round my way as well as a great variety of of other birds. Helps to have a Orchard nearby though the farmer doesn't seem to appreciate all the birds as much as we do.

I thought walkerchris77 was spot on when he said magpies are feral. But then I realized he was talking about the birds and not Collingwood supporters.

Magpies used to come inside, and standing on the kitchen bench, sing for treats. Marvelous voice and they have real personalities.
One day a kookaburra landed on the barbie while I was cooking snags. He didn't stay long.

How do you think the crows would feel?

The colours of the king parrot was not the reason why the above photograph was taken.

We have a family of Maggies that live around our place. We put fresh water in the bird bath every day for them. I do love the noises they make.

Agree with you walkerchris77. Magpies warbling is one of the best birds noises.

They are great looking birds. Why was the photo taken dplanet? (Not that you need a reason. It's a great photo)
We get plenty of them in the Dandenong Ranges. I saw one a few weeks ago that had patches of yellow feathers on it's back. I thought it might be a mutation but when I researched the reason I found out it had beak and feather disease which will eventually kill it

Simply, my tiny tent was chosen.

Finding as i get older i enjoy watching birds. Something i would not have bothered with when i was young. We currently have two wedge tail eagle s hanging around the house. Amazing animals. One was even nice enough to drop a feather.
