Got back early today from a camping weekend in Marysville with my girlfriend. Walked the Keppel Lookout trail that takes in the Steavensons Falls and looks out over the Marysvilles area with views of the Cathedral Ranges. It was a good 12.5km walk from the car park and back again.
We ended up camping at Keppel Creek which is a 5 minute drive out of the Marysville town centre. I had read that there were 3 camping spots there, but that there was a secluded spot down a narrow track that overlooked a little creek. The track that ended up leading to the secluded area looked far too narrow to get a car down, so we decided we would camp at the front. On second thought, we decided to give the track a go and found that the car would fit down there. I'm glad we did. There was only room for one car spot and probably two tents, but the little river was brilliant and made for good recovery for myself and my girlfriend after our hike.
If anyone gets to Marysville, be sure to check out Keppel Creek camping ground. If you want the spot we had, be sure to get in quick. A 4WD came down the track but had to turn around as soon as he saw us setting up our tent.
Will put pics up of the campsite tomorrow.
