Planning a trip to walk solo in the Grampians.
It will be during July for 4 or 5 nights.
Experienced walker but I don't climb or bush bash when on my own.
Taking GPS, emergency rescue button, have all the gear for cold wet weather etc...
I'm after something that takes in the sights, maybe a high camp one night, reliable water, don't want to bump into people on the tourist weekend trails too much....
seeking serenity!
I'll be coming in from the S.A. Horsham side and want to do a circuit. Start and finish at my car.
(I have the 1:50 topo maps if you want to get specific,
Any suggestions.
Thanks.

Maybe consider this? It's taken a while to come together, but you could try out the first leg which has just opened?

Yes that looks like the kind of thing I'd consider. Great idea when it's all completed.

I wouldn't suggest any route close to halls gap if you don't want to see people.
I'd suggest linking a few remote areas a bit further south. Maybe include the plateau.
Or head to the south west and explore some interesting terrain

At and north of The Fortress there's some pleasant walks. The main limitation is time - in four days you would run out of walk. Another area is the Mt Difficult Range, although it may be tricky sorting out a good start point that works as an end point. I agree about avoiding Halls Gap.

I've looked at doing a traverse of the southern Serra Range from Rosea before. It looks hard but fun and is probably more than 4 days of walking.

so that rules out the Serra range - no track, lots of climbing/scrambling. There is a firetrail that runs along the base (much of both sides) but up on the range is very tough walking.
Serra Range is just that - SERRAted. Lots of up and down, lots of rock. It's very hard country with no water up on the range (at any time of year).
Brett, assuming you don't want 2 days of road bash, you won't find a walk that meets your requirements in the Grampians (4 nights, loop, no climbing/bush bash, few people). The overnight walks in the Grampians are 1 or 2 nights at best.
Consider two 2-night walks - eg Major Mitchell Plateau (as a loop) and Briggs Bluff - Mt Difficult loop.
