Granite Flat Spur

Postby Will » Thu 21 Oct, 2010 10:23 am

G'day All,

This is well out of my back yard (tas) but looking at spending a few days in the Bogong area within the next few weeks and interested in the condition of this 4wd track.
Just how '4wd' is it? Rocky, slippery, steep, washed out etc?
Territoty of a lifted and locked rig or would a soft roader make it? (without damage :D )

Cheers
Will

Can't say I know it, but perhaps you'd have a better chance of up to date info here

I've not done it, but I'd expect that there would be some residual storm damage there still. Parks may be able to give you some information,.
If you do it, can you let us know what it's like? I'd love to go in that way one day.

Fairly 4WD. Most definitely experienced 4WD with any kind of rain. I've been a passenger but haven't actually driven it. Some steep sections - very slippery in the wet. Granite rocks here and there. Access is gated over winter.
