Where can I do a snow camp in Victoria at this time?

Postby David M » Thu 11 Sep, 2014 2:01 pm

I missed two organised snow walks / camps and I was wondering if there is anywhere left in VIC this late in the season where I could do a snow walk and / or camp? Close to Melbourne would be preferred but I was also thinking of Mt Feathertop. Thanks.

I'm headed back to PV in the next week if you want to go as far as Falls Creek, there will be snow there and on Feathertop/ Bogong for the next month, although only in patches

Stirling will be the closes spot that still has some snow, you'll have to pay resort entry though.

Feathertop and Bogong are both free but at least a 1000m ascent, (closer to 1500m).
Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful.
