Tanjil Bren Overnighter

Postby PedroArvy » Thu 07 Apr, 2016 11:14 pm

I have been playing around with www.gpsies.com to try and find some interesting hikes near Melbourne.
This is an overnighter from Tanjil Bren and I was wondering if anyone had thoughts about it.
The first day has a solid bush bash, I wonder how impenetrable the scrub is up there?

Here is day 1 http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=dfilrbuglktpurak

And here is day 2 http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=yivlmccfkoshrzjk

The campsite area is also pretty dodgy.

We walked along some of the Tramway walk earlier this year. We drove in via Saxtons Track and then walked downstream for approx 2kms, heading towards Tanjil Bren. That part of the track was extremely easy. There were however a lot of blackberries just before the river crossing. They were covering a lot of the track but were easy enough to get past. Can't help you with info for north of the river.
Sometimes, I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
