Hi,
Im looking for information on walking the genoa river in this national park. Ive come across very little info but i know that there is a walking track (yambulla track) that goes into the park right to the genoa river. The blogs ive found then do some day trips south and north of this point along the river before backtracking out along yambulla track. Does anyone know if its possible to follow the genoa river downstream and have any info on what the conditions might be like following the river downstream (south) from yambulla track all the way to the road? Thanks!!

I did this walk about 15 years ago so things may have changed but yes you can walk down river. Mostly there are sand banks or rocks to walk on but often the easiest path is in the river itself. It was never more than waist deep, and then only for short distances, except for one very short swim. Just before you get to the farm land a track, marked with a rock cairn, takes you to the end of Ivor Track. A better/easier entry than Yambulla is Saddle Flaps Rd off the Monaro just north of the border. This gets you almost right to the river. I was told of a foot pad down to the river but couldn't find it, but the scrub was easy to navigate. At the time Ivor and Saddle Flaps were rough but 2wd.
