Only before winter so might not be of much help. DEECA had done some track work and it was in good condition. I don't see any of the recent snow or rain events doing too much damage and doubt there is any snow left on the road. If the question relates to what type of vehicle would be suitable I could not say for sure a 2wd would be OK but any AWD would be fine based on previous years. I am not saying 2wd would not make it either but there are still the odd slushy bits in winter and some things are also driver dependent. You could always contact Parks at Mt. Beauty for info.

Drove Camp Creek rd to Eskdale yesterday , road is in good condition a few boggy soft spots but managed in my 2wd.... I wouldn't dare if its been raining wet conditions I reckon would be slip sliding sideways like the Jamaican bobsled team.

It has been quite dry this winter and I suspected the road would be OK but as it is not my usual way up Bogong I could not be sure. Good information for others. Might also be handy for 2wd to carry a set of wheel chains for the 'just in case'. Getting in is one thing and getting out another. I have known people to get stuck at the gap with some unforeseen weather. A bugger to fit for a short distance but better that than a slide off the edge or getting stuck.
