Hallu wrote:Well given the AFL doping scandal about to blow off, I wouldn't be surprised if it was also their drug camp, nice and quiet and away from everyone... or a good excuse to explain unusual levels of hematocrits from self blood transfusions...
I think you might be thinking of Essendon's "high" training camp (conducting in secret in an Essendon botox clinic) not Geelong's Fall Creek camp.

Wayno is correct, 1500 metres is where the altitude benefits start to kick in.
I lived at Falls Creek for 5 years and I can assure you all that even the altitude of the village is sufficient for the body to need some time to adapt. I used to love that wonderful "O2" buzz you got when coming down the hill after a month or two.
The fitter you are the less time that will take, I lived in Mt Hagen for a while, the altitude there took a month to adjust to and when you climbed higher I could really feel the effects of the altitude despite being both reasonably fit at the time and altitude adjusted. PNG has some very high mountains indeed, even if most of them are walk-ups

"Developers set to descend on national parks"
http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/developers-set-to-descend-on-national-parks-20130330-2h0k3.htmlObviously, we knew this was the outcome but my god, I despise every single thing that these people stand for.

Where will it end. This government can only see the dollar signs. Just like the Kennett government did they just sell off everything and to hell with the environment.

And a quote from the article "Frankston resident Michael Jackson also raised concerns. ''All we're doing is going back to the Kennett era. Once the developers have it, it's lost forever,'' he said."

Who knows where it will end. But it will certainly escalate with Liberal in power - assuming Labour no longer has a chance.

Imagine this, golden arches towering over the trees, hotels, casinos, theme parks, hordes of obese parents with their obese kids driving around looking for hamburgers, fried chicken, slush pops, and we had better put in a heliport to get them there!! Fiction? IT WILL HAPPEN !!!!!! Politicians do not give a toss about the environment(they sometimes do before election time).Enjoy our wonderful parks etc. while you can, soon to gain access to them you will enter through a theme park or maccas, kfc & pay heaps to get in !!!! .........Cheers Vicr

I know this is just going to go on and on. Steadily getting worse until our National Parks are eroded and eroded but for Christ's sake, 99 year leases! Hey, let's see if we can build a Hong Kong replica on top of Mt Hotham. C'mon developers, let's go!

There is a place with eternal torments waiting for those who defile, sell and concrete over what is left of nature!

Is it Toorak, Paidal? I'm pretty sure these people are making a good living out of it. It's like that old question; how do you sleep at night? Well, on silk sheets with down pillows on my extra king sized bed.

Toorak isn't a bad guess. Most of the natural relatively unspoiled places of supreme peace and natural beauty that these life forms defile end up looking like Toorak and in the end a visit to such poo... can only be afforded by those with similar bank balances and addresses.
