Water on Bogong

Since I've recently established that I can get water from the creek halfway up Eskdale Spur when I go up the next weekend, where are my next water points? We are planning to camp at the top of Eskdale night 1, and then walk down to Cleve Cole, and then back out towards Westpeak for night 2.

Is there currently water at Cleve Cole ( even with the little shrimps things in it - what are they?)? If not, how far below CC do you need to walk to get water from the creek? I've never sourced water from out near West Peak, but presume that the creek that runs north from between Hooker Plateau and West Pk old have water somewhere........or it is just easier to carry it.

Water points on Bogong are at Mitchell H and CC. I am quite sure that you would be able to collect some water from Bogong Creek, which is running near Hooker Plateau and West Peak. Further info can be found via the link http://dztrek.blogspot.com.au/search?up ... -results=4

When I was there over easter, the tap at Cleve Cole hut has water, the creek which lead to howman's falls is FULL of water.
At this point, I think most creeks which should have water, are running with water.

Thx. I know that the creek downstream from CC has water. I'm not sure about the "shrimps" from CC tank water..

I'll check out the creek off the Hooker plateau on our way to West Pk,

Hope it's not too far down!

I know it is very late to post, but thought i would chuck my 2 cents in.
I have walked up Bogong 3 times and can say that drinkable water is available at Bivuac, Michelle and Cleve Cole hut.
Bivuac Hut did have some issues with water quality a few years ago, however, I was up there March 2013 and they have a new water tank, so no more issues.

Don't know about other huts or streams. There is a small stream 3/4 up Staircase spur that should be running all year round, although in summer will just be a damp patch underfoot and you will have to bush bash for 50 meters or so in order to find something slightly suitable. However, this option is unnecessary as Michelle Hut is not that much further uphill.
