I am walking the GOW in late October and camping in the GOW campsites. Will the water tanks have water in them or will I need to do water drops. Has anyone done the walk recently. Denis

Hi Denis,

Welcome to the forum. I haven't completed the GOW but at that time of the year there should be plenty of water in the tanks. Generally, October can a wet month in Victoria and the Otways is one one of the wettest parts of the state. Beautiful area down there. Have a great time.

I would expect water but don't set out with none and be prepared to sterilise if you don't like old tank water (I do - still alive).

Hi Denis
We did the second half of the GOW last Dec and found all the tank at the campsites had plenty in them. We have had some good winter rain down this way, so I think the tanks will again have plenty in them.

All GOW walkers campsites have tanks at the shelter and one by the toilet for hand washing. Tanks should be pretty full as it has been a wet winter/early spring.
