The Bluff this winter...

Hi all, has anyone gone up The Bluff yet this winter? Thinking of doing a day trip up there this weekend. How far up Brocks Rd can you get? If anyone cares to join me, I'm keeping it an option for Sunday....

I was up there about this time last winter. Depending on the trees down over the track. You can drive to within 2kms of Bluff Hut. At the Track Intersection of 16 Mile Jeep Track and the track to the hut.
We were lucky and it seemed like someone had been through only a day or two before and cleared the road. If heading up there i suggest taking a chainsaw to be safe. Coming back after the hike a few smaller trees had falling over the track and had to be pushed out of the way.

Is the road to Bluff Hut suitable for non-4WDs in summer or winter?

The Bluff is on my winter snow shoe trekking list!
In Winter would imagine you'd have to park the 2 WD at 8 mile flat and walk up from there on the hiking track.
