Water in the grampians - Fortress

Postby Justcameron » Sun 21 Dec, 2014 9:46 am

Hi All,

Planning a short little overnight jaunt this week in to the Oasis/Deep Creek campsite at The Fortress. (western side)

Is there reliable water at that campsite? Hamilton had 5mm of rain on Dec 5th and 37mm in November...

Also does anyone have any tips on accessing the top of the fortress? I can't seem to find much online :/

We are both experienced rock climbers and comfortable with scrambling but just not sure which direction to approach the summit from?

Thanks.

Very dry up there at the moment so I wouldn't rely on any water being available.

IMO there will be water in the creek near the campsite.
