Hi there. I know it's not specifically bushwalking, but I'm looking for someone who is knowledgeable about caving in Victoria to assist with an article I'm writing. I have a few questions about some specific areas that I need answers to. Thanks very much.

I guess I'm wanting to find the best limestone caves Victoria has to offer. I'm limited by being a novice, but wanting to go as off the beaten path as possible. Ideally I would like a guide who could take me places not too many people know about.

Ahhhhh, novices in unbeaten areas is not a good mix.
Best area I know of in Victoria is Buchan. Lot of very good underground country there. I know people heavily involved with exploration of a major system somewhere around there but it's very full-on technical stuff.
Have you tried going through one of the speleological groups? I think Latrobe uni has an active caving club. (They did when I was still involved up there, anyway).

Get in touch with the Victorian Speleological Association. Caving.org.au
Info on Victorian caves is generally not in the public domain- to protect both the caves and the public
