Just noticed a new government website spruiking Victoria's alleged "Great Trails".
http://www.greattrailsvictoria.com.au/

As with a lot of government projects, the site seems pretty flashy but is low on detail, with only 5 walks listed.

Edit - A had a bit of a further look and I'm less impressed, it's missing key information such as campsites (I'm specifically looking at the Lightwood Creek camp site on the Mornington Peninsula Walk), but it seems to meticulously catalogue picnic table locations. The site seems to be mostly aimed towards showcasing local tourism options.

But picnic tables are so important! All outdoorsy types know that. The number of times that I've been up in the high country, slogging away, wishing for nothing more than a good picnic table.

But perhaps the alpine cattlemen would give the picnic tables for their horses....

If it encourages Joe and Jane Public to lift their large backsides off the couch it has to be a good thing.
