I saw a preview last night for a new movie based on a real-life trek up Everest. Thought it might be nice to see it with some like-minded souls.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everest_(2015_film)Release date is Sept 17th. I thought I'd get a general feel for interest before putting up a poll to select a day and time...
Options would be: Imax vs regular screening, weekday vs weekend. For myself any weekday besides Wed would do, or a Sunday evening.
The city seems most central so that would be the obvious location.
Anyway - let me know if anyone is interested and if I'll try to find an agreeable time and place.

Interesting move, that.
It’s not just snow that’s the issue. It’s also dirt. From Vanity Fair:
On the other side of the globe, months later, director Baltasar Kormákur was grappling with one of the most fatal effects of these fluctuating temperature waves while filming his biographical disaster drama Everest in Italy. A native of Iceland, Kormákur had initially planned to shoot in his home country, but the glaciers there are becoming blacker and ashier—no longer the crisp, white ice sheets seen in science books—and he did not think it was the right look for his film.
When Iceland proved too ashy, Kormákur moved to the Italian Alps … where an avalanche very rudely wiped out his set. Later, they moved production to Everest itself, and were filming in Camp II when an avalanche killed 16 climbers last year.
I'm keen and city would be great, maybe if it's at Cinema Nova in Carlton?
Just about any time is fine, am flexible. Am away interstate from 25th Sept for around 10 days.

Hey Erichfromm
I'm likely to be off the radar from 1st Sept to 6th Sept inclusive so any posts or PMs in that the will be unseen. Apart from 25th Sept to around 8th October, I'm good. I've booked a trip to Tassie to go hiking, I only book the return flight when I come out the other end, too many schedules in life… don't want to have to be thinking of them when hiking as well!
Am keen as beans to see this film. Do keep me (us all) in the loop.
Cheers
WildLight
