Looking to overnight at the Accord Hut ruins at Easter. Any advice on whether there will be water this late in the year, and where it is? I assume there usually is, given there was a hut there.

There is no water at the hut ruins. If going up the BA spur you will need to carry it from the river. If coming down you will need to carry it from Fed Hut. It's not the best camp with limited views.

It's a long walk from fed hut to harrietville via the BA spur. i did it over a decade ago in hot weather when there was a tank at BA hut, even then I planned to run out of water at BA hut and resup from the midgy, unpleasant supply in the tank ....

If this option no longer exists you will need a considerable amount of H2O to get you from fed hut down the spur on a hot day. That said, I drink a lot on a hot day.

2 weeks ago I walked up Bon Accord spur to fed hut, it was fairly warm with little shade. I carried 5 litres of water and just had enough left to make coffee with breakfast there was water in the tank at fed hut but there is definately no water at the BA hut site. Great walking though watching the sun set from little Mt Feathertop was a highlight.

There is water at Diamantina spring below the Diamantina hut. After that the next water on the BA spur track is at Washington creek. There is no water or anything else at the BA hut ruins.
In Snow season you can melt snow if the snow line is low enough but I wouldn't bank on that . I would not go near the BA spur in green season. That would be torture.

Thanks for all the useful info - have re-routed to avoid BA. Life is too short to bushwalk where it isn't fun. (at least type 2 fun or better)
