Hi, planning to take some girlfriends to do the ted errey circuit in the brisbane ranges on Saturday. We've never done it before - any tips?
It looks like it's somewhere between 8 -12km which should be fine for us

I think anti clockwise is best as you come down the steepest part.

Nearly went over on my khyber running down that steep part the other day. But.... Staceykate walking up it means you can burn some extra kilojoules and stop at the Anakie general store afterwards and get some nice treats- maybe some dimmies, a hedgehog and snag roll.
Its 8ks walking ( probably more like 7), setting off from the Stony Creek picnic area in the middle -if you want a bit longer (and it's a nice walk as well) set off from the picnic area 'Anakie Gorge' then it's 10.5 ks and is my preference. A stop at the Overlook/Outlook? when leaving from the Gorge carpark is about half way and is quite a nice spot to break out the tea, coffee (no coffee if you are running) or grappa. If you want some good exercise you could run the whole 10ks anti clockwise as Craig mentioned, and eat even more at the shop. Mmmmmm

Dunno Ted Errey always know it as the Anakie Gorge Circuit, we went clockwise, its a great day out.
I have done a lot of exploring at the Nothern end from Boar Gully campground upwards and really enjoyed
it, because you won't see anyone.

Have fun. Let us know your theory on the construction of the bridge when you get back

Have fun. There may even be few orchids left.
Is there a pun in there somewhere Craig?

Not really, I'm just stumped as to why it has been built as it is. There must be a reason but it escapes me...
(Lettuce? Just jokey sms usage, thought everyone did it, but maybe it's just me)

Ah ha!
Stumped! You're on fire! Pun intended?
But you've got me on the bridge, what bridge?

Perhaps I am mixed up. There's definitely one on the burchell and I thought there was one on the ted Errey too. A boardwalk crossing a gully where the boards alternate left then right then left then right of centre?

Thick as plank (bingo) of course there is! Forgot it.
It alternates because they know it will be, and stay wet, after rain down in that gully- it's designed to slow people down. It can be very slippery/slimey.
Down in that gully in September it was minus 2.2 one morning.

Makes sense but it would never have occurred to me. Definitely a track that has been adopted by runners. I walked it once and it was 35+ degrees and I was still passed by a runner.
(Pic is not on the Errey circuit, but identical construction)

Looks like a track for dinosaur feet...
The Krell from the valley of the ID have landed.

We did the circuit on Saturday afternoon - was great! Harder than I expected... we started at Anakie gorge picnic area and then went left at the Ted Errey turnoff - so up the hill to start, and along the river coming home.
We were using it as training for the Prom, I carried about 2kg less than I will at the Prom so was a good practise.
The bridge left and right was cool! Got a cool pic of the hubby on it. Not sure what the point is either - maybe letting sunlight through to the ground cover?

Well done. You might consider the Currawong Falls loop at Airey's for a similar training walk. Nb, the falls are rarely running but it's still nice.

Nice work. Any frogs croaking? Right where hubby is standing was minus 2 plus, not that long back.
